DUBLIN manager Pat Gilroy has switched Barry Cahill back to his natural position for Sunday's Allianz Football League Division 1 final against Cork.

The versatile St Brigid's man has proven effective when he has had to fill in at midfield due to injuries and suspensions this season.

But in a league final line-up that sees six changes from Dublin's draw with Galway, Cahill has finally been returned to his usual wing-back spot, where he won an All Star in 2007.

Goalkeeper Stephen Cluxton, corner-back Michael Fitzsimons, midfielder Michael Darragh Macauley and forwards Kevin McManamon and Tomas Quinn all return in an experienced line-up to face the defending champions.

Out go Michael Savage, Nicky Devereux, Paul Casey, Sean Murray and Pat Burke.

Alan Brogan misses out through suspension but his younger brother Paul has got the nod at full-back in what Gilroy described as "the closest we have been during the league to having a full team available to us".

Picking

"Most of the time up to now we were just picking who was fit," he said. "Some of the lads who played the last day, like Sean Murray, Paul Casey and Nicky Devereux, it was hard to leave them off. It wasn't easy to pick this team."

Significantly, the Dublin boss has given Bryan Cullen the captain's armband for the league final -- and the rejuvenated Skerries star looks in pole position to get the nod when Gilroy names a skipper for the championship.

Cork have made four changes to their side.

Jamie O'Sullivan replaces the suspended Eoin Cadogan in the full-back line, Nicholas Murphy comes in for the injured Aidan Walsh at midfield and Donncha O'Connor and Patrick Kelly return to the attack for Fiachra Lynch and the injured Paul Kerrigan.

Meanwhile, Westmeath have been hit by the absence of forward star Dessie Dolan for their Division 3 final against Louth.

He already had a holiday booked to America, and he is replaced by his young cousin James Dolan at full-forward in the team's only change.
