Cahill haul inspires Kilkenny

Points in the 60th and 62nd minutes from Paddy Cahill (free) and Luke Scanlon earned Kilkenny CBS a dramatic win over Colaiste Eoin in Clonad.

The Dublin side showed a keen eye for goal when the chances came their way early on.

Strikes from Colm O'Neill, after 13 minutes, and Dara Gallagher, in the 17th, helped Colaiste Eoin shake up the opposition during the opening half, before a 32nd-minute point from Oisin O'Rourke gave them an interval lead of 2-2 to 0-7.

CBS grabbed the opening five scores of the second half, before the Dubs charged back to parity again, drawing level at 2-6 to 0-12 in the 50th minute.

It was tight after that, but in the end Cahill and Scanlon sneaked the Cats through.
