MAYO have made a pair of changes for their All-Ireland quarter-final encounter with Conor Counihan's Cork in Croke Park on Sunday.

Ger Cafferkey from Ballina Stephenites is preferred at full-back to Alan Feeney, while in the attacking line Garrymore's Enda Varley gets the nod ahead of Jason Doherty at corner-forward.

The two changes are a repeat of the first two substitutions manager James Horan made in the Connacht final win over Roscommon.

Cillian O'Connor continues in the other corner after his nerveless display from placed balls in that game, while his Ballintubber clubmate Alan Dillon continues to skipper the side from the centre-forward position.

The fledgling midfield partnership of Breaffy brothers Aidan and Seamus O'Shea is maintained as the Connacht side go in search of their first championship win over the Rebels since the All-Ireland semi-final replay of 1916, when they went on to lose to Wexford in the final.

Mayo did win the most recent meeting of the sides when they defeated Cork 1-13 to 0-14 in the league last April.

Mayo (SF v Cork) -- R Hennelly; K Higgins, G Cafferkey, T Cunniffe; R Feeney, D Vaughan, T Mortimer; A O'Shea, S O'Shea; K McLoughlin, A Dillon, A Moran; E Varley, A Freeman, C O'Connor.
