Burke's strike keeps Corofin on final path

LAST year's beaten finalists Corofin qualified for another Galway final with a 1-11 to 0-10 victory over Milltown in Tuam.

Milltown, despite a good start that yielded a brace of points from Michael Martin in the opening six minutes, fell away in the second half.

The crucial score came after 37 minutes when a great pass set up Corofin's Justin Burke and he made no mistake from close range.

Damien Burke quickly added a point to make it 1-8 to 0-4 and Corofin never looked back.

Meanwhile, in the remaining quarter-final, Mountbellew drew with Tuam Stars on a scoreline of 0-10 to 2-4.
