Letterkenny side St Eunan's had an easier than expected third championship success in-a-row against Naomh Conaill of Glenties in Ballybofey yesterday.
The Glenties men failed to raise a flag from the 10th to 36th minute, having led early on by 0-4 to 0-1.
By half-time Eunan's were a point to the good, 0-5 to 0-4, with Conall Dunne and John Haran big influences in the turnaround.
By the start of the second half the Letterkenny men took a firm grip on the game and they were three ahead thanks to a magnificent point from Ciaran Greene in the 41st minute.
Any chance Naomh Conaill had of turning it around disappeared when they lost Anthony Thompson, rather harshly, to a second yellow card on 43 minutes.
With a continuous supply of ball, the St Eunan's forwards tagged on points at will with young substitute, Conor Gibbons, getting a brace.
Captain Brendan Devenney was collecting the cup for the second year in a row and he has a magnificent record of playing in 10 of the last 12 finals in Donegal.
For Kieran Ryan, it was also a milestone as he collected his seventh county medal, four with Mullingar Shamrocks in Westmeath and now three in-a-row with Eunan's.
Naomh Conaill will be disappointed with their performance, but apart from a good opening 10 minutes, they disappointed, with only Brendan McDyre and Eoin Waide playing anywhere near to scratch.
