The redevelopment of Windsor Park has led to a reduced capacity of just over 10,000 for recent matches but, with victory enough to guarantee a first major tournament appearance in 30 years, the IFA has done everything possible to accommodate extra fans on October 8.

A total of 11,700 spectators will now be on hand to watch Michael O'Neill's side attempt to book their trip to France next summer.

Irish FA Chief Executive Patrick Nelson said: "We are delighted we are able to provide many more Northern Ireland fans with the opportunity to see the game live.

"After all, this game could provide a moment in history that we as a country can build on not just through football but by giving the people of Northern Ireland something to unite behind."

The additional allocation will be made available exclusively to IFA mailing list subscribers.
