Sports psychologist Enda McNulty tells Máire Treasa Ní Dhubhghaill where Sunday’s Final will be won and lost.
Former All Ireland winner and eminent sport psychologist Enda McNulty joined Máire Treasa Ní Dhubhghaill in the Croke Park dressing room, where the atmosphere will be cauldron-like before throw in at 3:30 on Sunday.
As a man in the business of setting a winning mentality, McNulty tells us about the importance of tapering your training in the run up to an All-Ireland Final, how there are three main psychological battles for Mayo to conquer before running out onto the pitch for their date with destiny.
Mayo will learn from how Kerry managed the last 10 minutes against Dublin and the bench will prove the crucial difference between these two teams, however Enda asserts that Dublin really are a special team with Kevin McManamon the absolute MVP.
Stephen Cluxton’s meltdown against Kerry may show Mayo a chink in the Dubs’ armour and with Aiden O’Shea imperious under the high ball and Dublin not at full strength in their defence, it should prove an enthralling battle. Bring it on!
