Down enjoyed a comfortable nine-point victory on Saturday to progress to the next round of the Christy Ring Cup.
The Mourne hurlers, spurred on in the first half by a strong breeze in Ballycran, had the game wrapped up by the interval when they led 0-14 to 0-5.
Gareth 'Magic' Johnston and Andy O'Brien traded frees but points from Chris Egan and Danny Toner helped stretch the home side's lead in the opening half.
Egan, who top-scored with 1-4 from play, sealed this easy Round 2B win with a 65th-minute goal as Down bounced back from defeat to Kerry the previous week to keep their slim hopes in the competition alive.
Wicklow performed much better in the second half and dual player Leighton Glynn hit a couple of points late on. However they bow out after this result and their defeat to Meath in the first round.
