Gordon Lord Byron is to have a run on home soil at the Curragh on Saturday before going on his travels again in search of more Group One glory.

Trainer Tom Hogan reports last year's Prix de la Foret winner to be on course for the Invesco Pension Consultants Minstrel Stakes at the weekend.

A return to France for the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville on August 4 is on the agenda for Gordon Lord Byron, who was last seen finishing fourth to Lethal Force in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

"We probably have a busy autumn campaign set for him. He will be travelling over and back so I thought we'd leave him at home and the owners would like him to run at home again this year," Hogan told hri-pressoffice.ie.

"This race at the Curragh looks a suitable opportunity for him and the ground is no problem for him.

"We will probably go to the Maurice de Gheest and maybe take on Lethal Force again, hopefully we will get drawn near him this time. We will go back and play with the big boys again.

"He ran well over a mile in Hong Kong last year. Even though he's never won over a mile, he clocked a time faster than most horses in Europe, and the champion miler in Japan was behind him.

"There are plenty of options with him from six furlongs to a mile. He's in great form and we're very happy with him."
