He may not have been involved in the final test but Brian O'Driscoll was delighted to claim a prize that has eluded him for 12 years

O'Driscoll was not involved in the 41-16 victory in Sydney but ends his Lions career with a first series win in four attempts.

"I'm delighted, it's been a rollercoaster week for me but it's all about being a part of it for me," he said.

"I will always have it on my CV and the negatives will be forgotten.

"Huge credit goes to the players, the management and staff."

There were joyous scenes after the final whistle as O'Driscoll celebrated with his baby daughter Sadie.
