Braehead Clan's lead at the top of the Elite League was cut to one point after they let slip a two-goal lead in their 3-2 defeat to Hull Stingrays.

The Scottish side appeared to be cruising to victory when Matt Keith and Stefan Meyer put them two goals to the good inside the opening 10 minutes of the first period.

Jordan Knox halved the deficit four minutes later while third period goals from Jordan Mayer and Zach Hervato turned the game on its head and earned Hull their 13th regulation win of the season.

Nottingham Panthers narrowed the gap after a 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Belfast Giants.

Chris Lawrence scored the shootout winner for the Panthers, for whom Chris Higgins, Greg Jacina and Robert Lachowicz scored in regulation time.

Kevin Westgarth, Mark Garside and Ray Sawada were all on target for Belfast, the latter two's strikes putting the Northern Irish side ahead by one goal, but they were eventually overcome after overtime could not separate the sides.

Belfast's defeat leaves them level on points with fourth-placed Sheffield, who thrashed Dundee Stars 6-0.

Tomas Petruska and Colton Fretter both bagged a brace while Darrell Hay and Michael Forney also found the net for the Steelers.

Elsewhere, goals from Ned Lukacevic, Chris Wands and Matt Reber lifted Fife Flyers to a 3-2 victory over Cardiff Devils, whose strikes from Jake Morissette and Joey Haddad came in a losing cause.
