Big Time caused a 16-1 stir by claiming the Fishery Lane Race at Naas.
Won 12 months ago by none other than Dawn Approach, the John Murphy-trained newcomer was largely unconsidered in what looked an up-to-scratch renewal of the five-furlong affair.
Shane Foley's mount maintained an honest gallop throughout, though, and kept on strongly passing the furlong pole to keep at bay Ballydoyle debutant Fountain Of Youth by a length and a half.
Club Wexford, a stablemate of Dawn Approach and the 6-4 favourite, was all at sea early on but stayed on purposefully to finish a close-up third on his first visit to a racecourse.
Murphy said: "He's a real serious horse. We'll think about the Coventry at Royal Ascot - he wants quick ground and has speed for anywhere.
"He's a proper one. He'd been working so well at home and doing things so easily."
