5 bolters who could be included in British and Irish Lions squad

Warren Gatland names his British and Irish Lions squad for the summer tour to New Zealand on Wednesday.

Here Press Association Sport looks at five bolters who could be included.

KYLE SINCKLER, ENGLAND

Has yet to make an international start - all eight of his caps have been won off the bench - but his explosive ball carrying and speed over the ground identify the tighthead as a rare breed of prop.

BEN TE'O, ENGLAND

Another whose role with England is as a high-impact replacement, Te'o is thought to have caught Gatland's eye with his power and direct running. The Worcester centre covers 12 and 13 and has a big-match temperament honed in rugby league.

ELLIOT DALY, ENGLAND

A versatile threequarter who can operate at wing, outside centre and full-back, Daly is lightning fast with a searing outside break and has so far made a seamless transition from club to Test rugby.

DONNACHA RYAN, IRELAND

The Lions' greatest depth lies in the second row, but his consistency and dependability have made him an ever-present for Ireland, while his temperament and personality make him an ideal tourist.

KEN OWENS, WALES

Busy hooker whose energy and work rate made him the Six Nations' standout player in his position, but the Scarlet is facing tough competition from Rory Best, Dylan Hartley and Jamie George.
