Getting to know Mayo’s Sarah Rowe

Sarah Rowe has been a driving force on the field for the Mayo Ladies GAA Football team and has spoken out about the lack of support for women in GAA in recent times off it.
Now with LIDL backing Ladies Gaelic Football in Ireland, there is backing behind the sport which has never before existed.
There’s still a long way to go, but support and awareness for Ladies Gaelic Football is improving. That’s down to women like Sarah Rowe, who is an excellent example of how women work just as hard as their male counterparts and take just as much pride in the jersey.
The former Republic of Ireland under 19 women's soccer team forward had her experiences in the world of soccer to compare to that of GAA after her participation in Ireland’s memorable campaign at the UEFA European Championship last year.
It’s down too to LIDL who put their considerable weight behind the cause of women in GAA with a campaign that reveals the incredible endeavours of mná na hÉireann who train in the hail, sleet and snow. Sarah is as brave as they come, for speaking out to help turn the spotlight on women in sport and can rightly take satisfaction in seeing the climate start to change.
But who is Sarah Rowe? We know all about the sporting hero, here’s a bit about the woman.
