SHILLELAGH UNITED continued their crawl up the Premier Division table at the weekend as they added Arklow Celtic A to their victim list.

United racked up a 4-0 win over the bottom side at Ballard to leap to within a point of Newtown United at the head of the table. Seamus Osborne and PJ Mulhall both registered doubles for the home side to condemn Celtic to a sixth defeat of the season, and their only points thus far come courtesy of a win awarded to them courtesy of Rathnew fielding an ineligible player which saw Celtic awarded a walkover. Two sides that Celtic will have in their sights are BBK United and Arklow United but that duo edged further away from the drop zone on Sunday following a 2-2 draw against one another.

Philip Doyle and Stephen Kavanagh landed the goals for the hosts with Mick Murphy and Tom Kavanagh on target for the visitors.
