Fassaroe put the breaks on Fairwood

FAIRWOOD CELTIC have finally been tamed.

The previously free-scoring side hosted Fassaroe YC and were unable to find a way past the Bray defender; resulting in a stalemate.

That keeps the two sides in second and third respectively but they have now lost ground on Avonmore FC B. The Rathdrum side landed their fifth league win of the campaign as they overcame Greystones United B at the Woodlands. Goals from Oliver Byrne and Ross Toonan were enough to inflict a fourth defeat of the season on United and open up a three point lead for Avonmore.

That result keeps poor Greystones with a 0% record but they at least share that burden with a few other sides.

A Lee Doyle doube and a Chris Cox effort steered Ballywaltrim FC to victory over Wicklow Town B, who have also yielded zero points from four outings.

And Sean Knowd's brace dragged Shamrock Celtic to victory over Carnew United, who have yet to register a point after three outings.
