WE LEARNED this week that while goalscoring is undoubtedly one of Fairwood Celtic's qualities; sympathy is not.
The unbeaten men hosted basement club Carnew Celtic on Sunday and they battered them 11-0, yes, 11-0. Tony Darcy and David Dillon may have to pay a visit to Solomon to seek his advice on what to do with the match ball after both men struck hat-tricks at Dunne's Field. David Blake bagged a brace and John Blake, Paul O'Keefe and Anthony Byrne added to the Carnew side's woes as they weighed in with singles.
Darcy and Dillon weren't the only hat-trick heroes this weekend. Shamrock Celtic's Sean Knowd also managed a treble as his side picked up a 0-3 win over Greystones United.
Those results see Fairwood Celtic and Shamrock Celtic both move to within two points of leaders Arklow United B.
St. Fergal's AFC find themselves trailing the table-toppers by six points after a 0-2 win over MK Dons on Sunday. Bobby Messitt and Ryan Nolan were the Bray side's goalscorers in Arklow on Sunday.
