FANTASTIC NEWS for former Arklow Town Football Club soccer player Danny Ledwith this week as he signed for Shamrock Rovers for the coming season.

A former Irish Colleges International and member of the Irish International Development Squad, Danny played at U-20 level with UCD before progressing to the first team where he became their widely-recognised freekick expert during last season.

Danny is currently studying at IT Carlow and was a prominent member of the squad which made history last year when they claimed the Colleges FAI Umbro Cup just one week after winning the CUFL Premier Division Title for the second consecutive year.

Speaking at the announcement of his move to Shamrock Rovers, Danny said that despite interest from different clubs in Ireland and England he had selected Shamrock Rovers as he has had a lifelong ambition to play with the Hoops.

Danny was quick to remember his time with UCD which he described as a brilliant club.

Congratulations to Danny and we wish him every success in the coming season with his new club
