Arklow youngsters star in super tournament

The teams that took part had an absolutely brilliant five-a-side tournament on Tuesday, June 20 organised by the Arklow Baptist Church.
The young lads of Arklow Town took the initiative to form their own teams to compete for the Arklow Youth five-a-Side tournament 2013. Four teams from our own town and one from Tallaght came together at Arklow Geraldines GAA to compete for the trophy, medals, and bragging rights for a year.
Layton Kelly from Tallaght served as the referee and gave a very helpful talk at the halfway point in the tournament. After three hours of stiff competition, it came down to two teams, Byrne Athletics and Wexford competing in the final.
Going into the final, predictions were in favour of Wexford, but Byrne Athletics came out on top in an upset that baffled the critics. Congratulations to the winning team and to all the lads who took part.
