Blessington hit the ground running in this match, played in Blessington and early goals by two of the young guns Kyle Geraghty and Eoin Devlin gave them a great start.
After 10 minutes the score stood at Blessington 2-0; Kiltegan 0-1. Shane O'Keeffe rallied Kiltegan with a goal and Anthony Furlong added a point.
The home side pulled away again to tack on more points. Half time: Blessington 2-5; Kiltegan 1-4.
The game was open enough at that stage but when Jonathan Daniels banged in Blessington's third goal Kiltegan had a mountain to climb.
Blessington's fourth goal came in the dying minutes and was scored by Stephen Flannagan who was playing at full forward.
This game was notable because it saw the return of two players who have been on the injury list for a long time. Wesley Callaghan was injured around St Patrick's Day 2012 and has not played since.
Cathal Fitzgerald was even longer out of action but was back for his first full game and got among the Kiltegan scorers. Welcome back to both players.
