There was great excitement with all three indoor halls being used. For many of the boys this was their first time playing for their school team and boy did it show on their proud little faces. What an honour!

For two full hours we were treated to a feast of wonderful football. They played their hearts out and gave it their all.

There was no half-time and it was straight on and off every 10 minutes.

Participation and fun were the order of the day.

Taking part from Bray were St. Cronans, St. Peters, St. Fergals and Gaelscoil Uí Chéadaigh. From Greystones we had St. Kevins, St. Brigids and Gaelscoil na gClocha Liath. Kilmacanogue National School and Kilcoole Primary School also took part.

A special word of thanks to all the teachers who helped out on the day and particularly Dave Barry for all his organisation. Ní neart go cur le chéile!

Great Turnout in Aughrim

Aughrim Community Centre was the venue for the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Indoor football blitz for South Wicklow Schools. Schools from Rathdrum B.N.S, Avoca N.S, Annacurra N.S., Aughrim N.S., Crossbridge N.S and Tinahely participated.

This blitz was for third and fourth classes only with each school playing four matches during the morning, the skill level shown by all teams was of a very high standard. Well done to all.

Roundwood Blitz a Great Success

Five teams took part in the Allianz indoor football blitz in Roundwood on Thursday, January 23. Third and fourth class children from St. Pat's, Roundwood and Newtownmountkennedy Primary competed in a very enjoyable days work.

The pace was fast and furious as the children were only allowed to kick the ball when shooting for goal. Otherwise the emphasis was on hand passing with full participation from all the pupils.

Thanks to Roundwood GAA for use of the hall and to Garrett Doyle for his help on the day.
