Blessington GAA Club's youth football and hurling teams were the benefactors of new training kits and equipment thanks to club member Alan Connolly.

Alan is also a Henkel employee, the company behind many well-known brands such as Pritt, Sellotape, Unibond, Loctite, Right Guard and Schwarzkopf.

Henkel encourages its employees to take part in its 'Make an Impact on Tomorrow' employee engagement initiative. This allows the employees to perform volunteer duties in their spare time for the benefit of their local community. Alan managed to successfully apply for funding for Blessington GAA Club.

The Henkel funding has already made quite a difference for the club as it has been some time since the youth teams were able to wear new gear. Alan says, 'It is very important that the kids are kitted out properly as we believe this gives them a lot of confidence and self belief on the pitch.

'Due to the financial pressures on our amateur community based club, we are deeply indebted to Henkel for its support of our juvenile teams this year.'
