Anthony Nolan earns huge refereeing honour

WICKLOW'S Anthony Nolan will referee a minor all Ireland semi final this weekend in Croke Park and the former Baltinglass player was delighted to get the news.

"It comes as a text from Leinster and I couldn't believe it, I read it about four times and in the end had to get the misses to read it out to me, but I was delighted to get it," said Anthony.

The man in the middle gets to pick his own umpires for the big occasion but this will be no easy task according to Anthony:

"I'd have about eight lads that I always use and I have no idea how I am going to pick four, I've to bring the four up to Croke Park tonight to run through hawk eye so ill have to get picking quickly" laughed Anthony.

With a malfunction last week it would be understandable if a referee was nervous about using the technology but Anthony Nolan isn't worried, a man who only on his third year has been given charge of a Minor all Ireland semi-final, it would seem the sky is the limit for the Wicklow referee.
