Coolkenno and Michael Dwyer's served up a thriller in final of the Ray Daniels Cup played in Tinahely on Saturday.

Coolkenno's Ben Meehan and Chris Doyle opened the scoring with two well taken points. Ruairi Phelan opened the Dwyers account from a 45 before Eoin Byrne, with two points, and Daniel Troy added another to leave Dwyer's with a two point lead.

Ruairi Tompkins and Chris Doyle got Coolkenno back on track before three points from the boot of Andy Foley and another Phelan point saw Dwyers four up with two minutes to go in first half.

Coolkenno rallied again and with Pauric Coleman Murray and Tompkins both knocking over late scores to pull the half time deficit back to 0-08 to 0-06 in favor of Dwyers.

The second half began with Coolkenno laying siege to the Dwyer's goal.

Tompkins and Meehan drew Coolkenno level again after five minutes but Eoin Byrne and Foley again put Dwyers in front.

Coleman Murray and Tompkins worked tirelessly and their scoring prowess began to pay dividends as they cruised into the lead.

Anything Coolkenno could do Dwyers could also do and Phelan leveled again as extra time looked on with minutes to go. Coolkenno, however, found another gear to send over five points to bring the cup home.

Theresa Daniels and Pat Dunne presented the cup to Coolkenno captain Pauric Coleman Murray while Jimmy Birchal presented the Man of Match trophy to Michael Dwyers player, Andy Foley.
