Some of the Willow Grove runners hand over the cheque to representatives of St. Catherine's Association.

THE COMMITTEE of the Willow Grove Fun Run turned up at Cherrybrook, Kilpedder recently to hand over €9,200 to JC Collins student and Cliona Smith House Manager St Catherine's Association.

This money was raised at the sixth annual Willow Grove Fun Run.

This annual event is now firmly established on the vintage scene and takes place on the June Bank Holiday Sunday.

The event was nearly cancelled on the morning due to the torrential rain. As many regulars had committed to the event and were on the way, and the rain seemed to be easing, the run went ahead.

The total amount raised over six years has now passed €84,000.

The committee as always are fully supported by The Doyle Family and The Grove Bar, Willow Grove where the event is hosted.

Local businesses, self-employed, parents, staff and the general public as usual came out to support the run and indeed the great work done by St Catherine's.

The run was supported by members of the Wicklow Vintage Club and The Garden of Ireland Vintage Car Club as well as staff from St. Catherine's and many other volunteers.

The Bike Marshals and Kelly Recovery were on hand to ensure smooth running of event and that no one got left behind.
