Town council water and budget services

WICKLOW Town Council will continue to carry out water services and repairs within the town boundary on behalf of Wicklow County Council and the budget for 2013 will be set on Wednesday, January 9.

At Wednesday's monthly meeting, councillors were asked to consider entering into a Section 85 Agreement (Local Government Act 2001) with Wicklow County Council in relation to the performance by Wicklow Town Council of the Wicklow County Council sanitary functions within the town boundary of Wicklow for year 2013. It is the same arrangement as last year and members passed the Section 85 Agreement.

Speaking at the meeting, Town Clerk, Helen Purcell, said the council had yet to receive the statutory dates for when council budget meetings have to be held, however January 9 falls within previous statutory dates and also allows time for another budget meeting, should it be necessary.
