FORMER Wicklow TD and Minister for European Affairs was re-elected to the position of vice-president of the Alliance of Liberal Democrats for Europe (ALDE) Party last week.

Fianna Fáil hosted the ALDE Party Congress, which was held in Dublin last week and attracted hundreds of delegates from 50 members parties from across Europe.

Fianna Fáil's Wicklow Erskine Childers Cumann chairman Stephen Kearon, who attended the three-day congress said it was a success.

He said: 'It was great to meet fellow liberals from throughout Europe, and Fianna Fáil did a wonderful job in organising this key political event. The highlight of the three days was being there to see the election of the Dick Roche, to the key position of vice-president of the ALDE Party.'
