Remains of Ian Mckeever to return to Ireland on Friday

THE BODY of adventurer Ian McKeever is due to be repatriated home on Friday
Ian, from Lough Dan, Roundwood was killed after he was struck by lightening as he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro at around 12.30pm last Wednesday.
Originally from Killiney, Dublin 42-year-old Ian was leading a group, which including his fiancee Anna O'Loughlin and more than 20 other from Ireland, on an expedition which was raising money for charity.
The 42-year-old was struck by lightning a day after reports of bad weather hampering the climb. Ian moved to Roundwood more than eight years ago however he recently moved to Sandyford where he lived with his fiancee Anna who is from Kilpedder.
Mr. McKeever was a highly experienced climber, having previously reached the top of Mount Everest.
Ian's remains will be brought to the Church of St. Laurence O'Toole, Roundwood on Friday evening, at 7 pm.
The funeral mass will take on Saturday at 11.30 am followed by a private cremation service.
