THE EAST Wicklow Charity 'Cycle for Julia' started from the Grand Hotel in Wicklow town.
Great support was shown for the charity cycled, with a large group of cyclists already gathered by 9.30 a.m. for the start of the challenge. Participants had two routes to chosen from, 100km or 40km.
The cycle was in aid of Julia, a 3 year old girl living in Poland who is currently in a coma. Julia went to bed full of the joys of life on April 24 but couldn't be woken up in the morning. Doctor's informed her parents that she was unlikely to live long as a result of a brain haemorrhage. However, she has proved herself to be a real little fighter and her family are raising funds for her rehabilitation. Julia has relatives living in Wicklow town.
