Minister for Health Simon Harris dropped by Wicklow Montessori School recently to meet the 2017 All-Ireland Robotics Champions, 'Robo Riders'.

Back in January, sixth class pupils from the school won the Lego League Robotics Championships in Galway with their project focused on horses. As part of their project, the pupils examined all aspects of equine therapy and how it can help children with autism. They wrote to a number of people in the community seeking their input into how a service could be set up locally.

Minister Harris was one of those to receive a letter and arrived at the school to learn more about the children's work. He assured them that, if they could find someone willing to establish a local service, he would do all he could to help them secure funding.

The eight 'Robo Riders' and their mentors, Erica Callaghan, Hayley Fitzpatrick and principal Dara Mulhall, will be heading over to Bath in the UK for the international final of the competition from June 21 to 25.
