House tax protest group in meeting

A PUBLIC meeting took place in Arklow in recent days organised by Wicklow Campaigners Against Household And Water Taxes.
The meeting which included a cAmpaign fundraiser, which included a music session, was the latest event to highlight the group's opposition to home, water and septic tank charges in the Garden County.
It follows similar gatherings in Bray, Wicklow Town, Blessington and Aughrim.
Speakers on the night included activists from éirígí, Socialist party, Socialist Workers Party and PBPA, (People before Profit Alliance) also Trade Union and non-aligned activists.
Éirigí member Adrian O Raghallaigh who described the taxes as 'sickening' encouraged more people to join the campaign.
'It is very clear that we need to remain united on this issue and continue to empower the Irish people to take ownership of this campaign,' he said.
