A HOST of beauties graced the stage at The Little Moon in Coolboy at the weekend for the Coolboy GAA Prickly Rose contest.
The alternative pageant saw ten local 'ladies' compete for the title and undergo on-stage interviews with Des Willoughby and Ann Holly. They made their entrance throught the crowd on a specially erected catwalk to rapturous applause to show off the fashion makeovers they underwent that afternoon. The fundraiser also included live music by Jorum and a family barbecue as well as an interval performance by the club juveniles as The Willoughby Brothers who performed at The Rose of Tralee.
Joan Deere aka John Hatton took the title on the night and became the 2014 Coolboy GAA Prickly Rose. Chairperson Martin Hennessy extended thanks to everyone who supported the event and who sponsored the roses. He said that it was a great success and that the club was very happy with the turnout.
