GARDAI ARE trying to establish the circumstances behind the discovery of a dead man on the M11 motorway near the Newtownmountkennedy exit.
The man, in his late 40s, was discovered on Monday night lying on the hard shoulder. He didn't appear to have any visible injuries and it isn't believed he was struck by a vehicle. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
While he had no identification on his body, the man isn't from the local area.
He was brought to St Columcille's Hospital in Loughlinstown where he was pronounced dead.
