Two of Co Wicklow's top tourism offerings were amongst the major visitor attractions to win out in the prestigious CIE Tours International awards presented in Dublin Castle recently.

Glendalough Visitor Centre and Russborough House in Blessington were highly rated in surveys conducted by the company amongst its customers.

Speaking after the ceremony Russborough House CEO Eric Blatchford said that the award highlights that Russborough 'consistently exceeds clients' expectations'.

'This award from CIE Tours International is wonderful recognition for all members of staff who collectively make Russborough House & Parklands such a great place to visit for individuals and families alike,' he said.

The coveted awards were presented by the Minister for CIE Chairman, Vivienne Jupp when it was revealed that the visitors carried by CIE Tours International generated revenues of €83 million in 2015. The company brought 44,000 visitors to Ireland during the past year. Awards of Excellence were presented to 98 outstanding hotels and visitor attractions spread right around the country.
