Armed raid on Centra store in Dunlavin

TWO MEN armed with a knife and a hammer carried out an early morning raid at Centra, Dunlavin on Monday morning,
At 7.30am a female employee of Centra was accosted by two men before she entered the shop which was closed.
On entering the shop with the two men the woman and another female employee who was already in the supermarket preparing to open were threatened by the two men.
The men demanded money from the women who handed over a sum of money which is said to be a low four figure sum. The robbery lasted around ten minutes.
The two men are described as being between 5ft 5 and 5ft 8 and of thin build.
Both had strong Dublin accents and wore dark clothing.
The two men ran from the shop into a waiting 08 registered Audi saloon described as dark grey/charcoal/ black which was driven by a third man.
The raiders escaped down Dunlavin's Main Street before going onto Stephen's Street tuning right in the direction of Hollywood.
Between 7.45am and 8pm the thieves were forced to stop very close to Hollywood GAA club to change a flat tyre and gardai are not sure if they then travelled onto the N81 or continued on through Hollywood.
Gardai are appealing for anyone who saw the 08 Audi on Monday to contact them at Baltinglass Garda Station on 059 64 81022.
