JOE O'FLYNN of Rathsallagh House was among the attendees joining Tourism Ireland at The Goodwood Revival, which took place recently in Chichester, in southern England.
The Goodwood Revival is one of the largest vintage car festival events in Great Britain. It attracts about 150,000 visitors each year, offering a fantastic platform to spread the good news about car touring holidays around the island of Ireland.
Also present was Claire Hickey of The Grand Tour Wicklow/Kildare who provide information on places to stay, eat and visit in Wicklow, as well as also producing an interactive driving route featuring popular Garden County destinations.
Vanessa Markey, Tourism Ireland's head of Great Britain, says, 'Great Britain is the island of Ireland's largest tourism market and Tourism Ireland is actively promoting longer-stay holidays in the GB market, encouraging people to come and discover Ireland by car. Those visitors who prefer to use a car on holidays tend to stay longer, spend more and are more likely to visit more than one region. Our attendance at this year's Goodwood Revival event was a wonderful opportunity to highlight our driving routes like the Grand Tour of Kildare and Wicklow.'
