The stay-awake started at 8 p.m. and over 60 transition years were ready for the 12- hour marathon of exhaustion.

The stay-awake coincided with the German exchange so students were joined by 12 of their friends from Würzburg. ' This was a great way to get to know our German exchange partners,' said one student.

The task of 'stayingawake' became quite difficult around four or five in the morning when most were on their last legs. As soon as the sun came up they started to regain some energy and enthusiasm. As 8 a.m. rolled in every single person looked forward to going home to bed for some well deserved shut-eye.

The transition years raised some much needed funds for the school which went towards paying for the school musical ' The Wiz'.
