Roadworks could force landmark pub to close

The owner of Lil Doyle's pub says he is being run out of business by the Rathnew to Arklow Improvement Scheme works taking place on the N11.
Bollards erected along the road, the closure of the back road leading to Barndarrig and the abundance of trucks and heavy machinery located beside the pub car park have all impacted on owner Jack Traynor's takings.
He insists he will be forced out of business if the interruptions continue. 'I really don't know how I can last if this keeps up. It's breaking my heart. We had managed to turn things around before the works started but the last three months in particular have been hell. People can't get to the pub and are going elsewhere instead.'
