Problem with roads at estate in Kilpedder
It would cost in the region of €100,000 to get the roads in Glenview Park estate, Kilpedder, up to an acceptable standard.
District Engineer, Paul Byrne, said around half of the estate required total resurfacing. Another €20,000 would be needed for footpath repairs.
'Glenview Park isn't on our road programme list but if we have any savings we can look at estate roads, but obviously they will be competing against other estates.
'Public roads have to take priority and we don't have a separate budget for estate roads,' advised Mr Byrne.
Cllr Irene Winters commented, 'It is one of the worst estate roads of any estate I have ever witnessed.'
Cllr Mary Kavanagh shared similar sentiments.
Problems encountered by residents living in Glenview Park includes raised man hole covers on the road and gullies which are too hight be effective. There also isn't any skid resistance left on sections of the roads connecting the estate together.
