Playground to open in Tinahely
FOLLOWING a successful fundraising effort from the local community Tinahely's long awaited playground is opening on Sunday at 3pm. At a cost of €120,000, this new resource will offer all of Tinahely's children a safe and dynamic space to play and grow.
Children from the three local schools will be on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony and tea will be served in the Community Hall following the official opening.
Positioned beside the Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) that was built over a year ago by Wicklow County Council, it will provide a much needed amenity for younger children.
The project is one of a number that have been brought to fruition by Tinahely Community Projects (TCP), a group of local volunteers that have worked closely with statutory bodies and local landowners to improve and expand the amenities available to residents and visitors alike.
It has also been made possible by funding and support from County Wicklow Partnership, Wicklow County Council and local landowners.
