Kim will set off for Ghana in the new year

AN ARKLOW woman who departs for a volunteer trip to Ghana in the New Year is hard at work fundraising for her chosen charity.

Kim Sweeney who is studying Analytical Science in DCU will travel with student run organisation Global Bridges with 20 fellow volunteers for a ten day stint building water conservation tanks and teaching the local communities the importance of clean water.

To date Kim has undertaken various fundraising projects including cycling the distance of the coastline of Ghana with three other students.

Her next event takes place on home turf in Arklow with a bucket collection on Sunday, December 2 at The Bridgewater Centre. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
