WHAT A night of great bridge we had on Wednesday last in the Ecology Centre of the Dominican complex in Wicklow.
It was most entertaining and with many unusual hands dealt to challenge all the faithful members it was a close call who were to be in the top three places. Only three points separated the first second and third spots.
First place honours were awarded to Carol Wadden and her regular partner Linda Walsh. The two roses were second; Rose Behan and her usual partner Rosemary Morrissey. Hard on their heels in third place was the enthusiastic pair of Jim Carney and Gary Dowling. It was a most enjoyable competition with good humour and relaxed atmosphere.
The lessons before each Wednesday evening's competition are going well and open to anyone wanting to either come and watch or to sign up to learn this best of all card games and enjoy the social aspect as well.
Lessons are at 7.00pm and the main competition starts at 8.00p.m. in the Dominican Ecology Centre in Wicklow.
