SANTA IN HALL -- Santa arrives in the Community Hall, Bray Road in style on Sunday 16th at 12 noon, staying until 3 pm.
Children of all ages are invited into his Grotto. Picture taking and presents costs a donation of €5.00 or €3.00. There will also be face painting, Disco, free refreshments.
Boys and Girls Galore attended the Annual Christmas Party at the Club House last week together with Parents and Coaches, when a great time was had with gifts, prizes being given out to approx 80 children from Enniskerry.
PAUL HOLDS ON
First Round Record Scorer Paul held on to win the Christmas Hamper at the Enniskerr Par 3 Golf Outing. A number of players tried hard to catch the the leader but even veteran Jem Martin had to give way.
Enniskerry Footballers Present and Past were out in force to suprise on of the best Footballer/Hurler ever to wear the black and amber jersey at a 70th Birthday Party in Powerscourt Arms Country House Hotel last week. Joe was his usual relaxed self and gave on of his great sayings "Come on Enniskerry let them know were here" and a huge roar went up as the Club is alive and well and rearing to go in 2013.
The date for the Enniskerry Active Retirees Christmas Dinner and Party is December 30th in Summerhill House Hotel. All members, friends and Seniors from Enniskerry are welcome to attend. More Details next week. Last week the Meeting was well attended to witness the great exibition and worshop of Flower Arranging led by Local Mabel Coogan the Florist in Enniskerry.

Carols: The Gospel Choir will perform Carols by Candlelight in Powerscourt Church on Friday night at 8pm followed by supper in the School Hall. On Tuesday the annual Carols around the Hills and Valleys when members of the parish travel around the outlying parts of the parish to sing and collect for the Simon Community, starting at Powerscourt Rectory at 7pm and finishing with supper in the Rectory.
Craft Fair: On Saturday and Sunday there is a Craft Fair in the Parish Hall and Old School.
There is no meeting tomorrow night (Thursday) of the Enniskerry History Society as due to reasons outside the control of the Society the previously advertised lecture has had to be cancelled and this lecture will be re-presented as part of the Spring 2013 programme.
In the meantime members are invited to two lectures in Bray Library. This Friday James Scannell, Vice-Chairperson & PRO of the Bray Cualann Historical Society - the local history society for Bray & North Wicklow - will present a seasonal talk ' Christmas in Bray 100 Years Ago (1912) ' at 11am - admission free. This talk will recall what was happening in Bray over Christmas and the New Year 1912 and how different the celebration of Christmas was then compared to today.
Next Tuesday night the library will host a special lecture at 7pm ' When Ireland Starved? The Great Irish Famine ' by Dr. Enda Delaney, Reader in Modern History Edinburgh University and author of ' The Curse of Reason: The Great Irish Famine, 1845-1852'. All welcome - admission free.
2013 meetings of the Enniskerry History Society and its activities will resume on Thursday January 10th at 8.30pm in the Powerscourt Arms Hotel, Enniskerry, when Brian White will present his lecture ' Some Discoveries in Enniskerry and Some Other Interesting Stories About Enniskerry'.

There will be a Carol Service in the Church on Monday night at 7.30pm. The Communal Celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation takes place in the Church on Friday December 21st at 7.30pm.
