Engineer to be questioned about Dunbur Road works

The Wicklow County Council Area Engineer who headed up resurfacing works on Dunbur Road will be invited to attend the February meeting of Wicklow Town Council. The works have meet with plenty of criticism from elected members of the council and the general public, including claims that the resurfacing appears unfinished and remains bumpy.
The resurfacing of Dunbur Road only took place in October of last year.
A request for Area Engineer, Paul Byrne, to attend the first meeting of the year held on Wednesday had been made at December's meeting but Mr. Byrne was on leave. Town Clerk, Helen Purcell, said she should be able to arrange for him to attend February's meeting.
'A lot of people are talking about Dunbur Road and the state it was left in. Lets address the issue,' commented Cllr. Mervyn Morrison.
