Christmas Tree given blessing

The Christmas tree at the Bridgewater Shopping Centre - which for the last few years has also served as a remembrance tree for the Wicklow Hospice Foundation - was blesses last Sunday by a number of local clergy.

Among the interdenominational clergy who blessed the tree were Reverend Nigel Sherwood, Reverend Michael Anderson, Reverend Roland Heaney and Fr. Martin Cosgrave. The ceremony was accompanied by carol singers and an ecumenical choir led by Bridget Kenny.

Wicklow hospice Foundation are currently offering people the opportunity to name a ribbon after a loved one and have it draped around the tree. The ribbons will be available until this Saturday evening.
