Busy schedule of events lined up as Christmas arrives in west Wicklow

DUNLAVIN'S Christmas lights will be officially switched on this Saturday, illuminating the whole town in an array of dazzling colours.
Dunlavin and District Forum has organised a reception for the whole community in the Market House for 5 p.m., followed by the turning on of the lights at 6 p.m.. Christmas carols will also take place, including performances by the Scoil Nicholas Naofa choir.
A Christmas Fair takes place in Imaal Hall on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.. Santa Claus has also promised to pay a visit.
Saturday is also the date for a Christmas Fair in Donoughmore Hall. Attractions include Christmas table centres and wreaths for sale. There will also be cakes, plants, toys, jewellery, bottle stall, household goods and a monster raffle.
For those who love food there will be crepes, hot chocolate, chocolate fountain and of course, lovely teas. Younger folk can enjoy activities such as throw the wellie, hook the reindeer, lucky dip and more.
The Donoughmore Fair runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m..
The Scoil Nicholas Naofa choir will also perform at a schools carol service taking place in Ballymore on December 16 and at 10 a.m. Christmas day mass.
