AVOCA IT CENTRE

Do you want to learn how to shop on line, set your own email address up and send emails or just want to keep account of your weekly spending using Microsoft Excel. Then why not drop into the IT Centre and enquire about our classes. Come along and familiarize yourself with computers in a relaxed atmosphere. Other courses we provide are Beginners and FETAC Level 4 Information Technology Skills and of course we can tailor a course to suit your requirements, just pop in a have a chat or call us on 0402 35022.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Annual AGM will be held on Thursday 19th April in the hall at 1.30pm. We look forward to seeing all our members there, also anybody at all interested in the doings of our association will be more than welcome.

Our next tea dance will take place on Sunday 13th May from 3pm until 6pm in the hall with music by 'The Wicklow Man'. Entry fee is €5 and there will be music and craic galore. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

The following activities take place each week in the Community Hall, Avoca. Monday: Patchwork Quilting 7pm - 9pm. Tuesday: Art Group 12.45pm - 3.30pm Thursday: Art Group 10am - 12.30 Friday: Basic French 1pm - 2pm / Line Dancing 2.15pm - 3.15pm / Indoor Bowls 8pm - 10.30pm Sunday: Tea/coffee - Chat - Board games/cards 11.45am - 1pm. A series of "Talks" is being planned to take place during the next few months. Details to be announced later. There are also "Outings" to various locations and events throughout the year.

Tea dances are held on various Sundays in the Community Hall. If you would like to become a member, and join in any of these activities or outings. please phone Joan on 0402 30655 or 087 2260968.

AVOCA GAA

There will be a meeting for the juniorb footballers on Thursday night 5th April in Fitzgeralds at 8.30pm. This meeting is to discuss the upcoming league campaign which starts on Thursday 19th April with an away game against A.G.B. Could anyone interested in helping out in any way please attend.

OPEN SHOOT

Conary Clay Pigeon Club are holding a 50 bird sporting open shoot on Sunday 8th of April. Start time of 12 o clock. Prize money for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The meeting place is car park of Peggie's Pub, Conary. All are welcome. For more info. contact 087-2449861.

LATINO NIGHT

Latino night in 'Meetings of the Water', Avoca; Thursday 5th April (8:30 - 11:30pm), admission €2.50, great dancing - Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, and lots more, all welcome!

ICA GUILD

The next meeting of the Avoca ICA Guild will take place on Thursday, 5th April at 9.00 pm in the Avoca Community Hall. Please note change of time. This will be the guild's Annual General Meeting.

RECYCLING CENTRE

The Avoca Recycling Centre will be closed on Good Friday but will be open normal hours on Easter saturday 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm.
