Our Charity helps with the accommodation and care of the Elderly in Ireland and our main funds come directly from our Charity Shops so we need your help on a regular basis. We want to thank everyone for their wonderful generosity so far which makes a huge difference every day.
If you wish to leave a donation to our shop on Main Street, it is open 10.00a.m. -5.30a.m. Monday-Saturday and you can also drop to our Community shop in The Recycling centre Tuesday-Friday 11.00a.m. – 2.00p.m. and Saturdays 10.00a.m. – 1.00p.m., please remember we cannot take broken items including toys, electrical items and duvets but if you wish to check before you drop then you can ring our shop on our new number 085-8664904.
We are also in need of more volunteers for our shop in the Recycling centre so if you are interested in giving a few hours for a great cause then pop in to either of our shops and pick up a Volunteer form.
Our Christmas Raffle tickets are also available in both our shops and our top prize this year will be one of our beautiful Sue Ryder Dollhouses and with many more brilliant prizes you should call in and get your tickets early.
Preparations are in full swing for Arklow Music Festival which celebrates its 45th anniversary next year.
The festival will run from March 1 until March 9 and entries are currently being accepted for the 151 competitions which will take place during the course of the very popular festival.
Competition venues include the Arklow Bay, St. Mary's, Arus Lorcain, Maryborough Hall and the Bridgewater Centre. Organiser Jimmy Russell said he was delighted to have Bridgewater and Elavon back on board as sponsors again this year.
The website www.arklowmusicfestival.com is now up and running and the syllabus for the competitions is now available in local shops or from the festival office at 61-63 Upper Main Street or by contacting 0402 32732.

Continuing every Wednesday and Thursday morning is knitting classes with Trish from 11.00 a.m. – 1pm and crochet class with Julie every Thursday morning 11.00a.m. – 1.00p.m. and Tuesday evening 5.00p.m. until 7.00p.m. All classes only cost €5 for two hours and include tea/coffee. Local volunteers are needed to meet the growing demand from migrants wishing to learn English in Arklow. As part of the Failte Isteach national programme County Wicklow Partnership is running informal Conversational English Classes for non-English speakers in Arklow. The Ri Sessions are back with a bang this year and highlights will include an even bigger competition with more prizes and the compilation of another album.
