Family yoga festival in aid of the Martins

StormTroopers are set to pound the streets of Wicklow later this month. Rather than quashing revolt or hunting down rebels, they will be drumming up support for the latest fundraiser for the Martin family in Rathnew.

Joining them on their mission of raising awareness of the Family Yoga Festival on Sunday, May 28, will be the Transformer 'Bumblebee'.

The one-day festival will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on the Abbey Grounds in Wicklow town and will include meditation, reiki healing, sound bowel therapy and mini holistic therapies.

There will be a silent yoga disco at noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. while yoga instructor Anthony Kearney will lead a two-hour workshop open to all levels of experience.

A family event, there will be face painting, balloon modelling, magic shows, games, kids' yoga and lots more to keep the children entertained - not to mention the walkabout by the Stormtroopers and Bumblebee.

Tickets, costing €5 (children free) are available from Bridge Street Books or at the gate.
