Chamber Orchestra coming to perform at Brooklodge Hotel
THE Irish Chamber Orchestra will perform its production of My Brother Peter at the Brooklodge Hotel in Aughrim on February 20 at 9pm.
This original piece of music theatre, written and directed by Patrick Mason and starring Bosco Hogan, is based on the life and work of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky (pictured). The achievements and the tragedy of Tchaikovsky are captured in this fascinating performance.
The composer's marriage, sexuality and sudden death fueled much gossip. Modest Tchaikovsky (Bosco Hogan) is the composer's brother and first biographer and in this piece he is here to scotch the rumours and to settle the truth. He invokes his brother's music to prove his narrative. But music tells many stories, and none.
This nationwide tour by the ICO is being performed at only eight venues countrywide and was organised by the Courthouse Arts Centre Tinahely.
However due to the size of the orchestra and the expected demand for tickets it is collaborating with BrookLodge Hotel, Aughrim for this event.
Tickets can be booked through the Courthouse Arts Centre. For those who wish to make a night of it the BrookLodge Hotel are offering a special package including ticket, meal and accommodation for just €155pps. To avail of this offer please contact the BrookLodge Hotel directly on 0402 36444.
